Job summary

Bellwether Community Credit Union is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to monitor security tools, investigate alerts, and strengthen defenses. The role involves vulnerability management, incident response support, and automation using scripting languages.

You’ll work with IT and business teams to improve security posture, maintain dashboards, and participate in audits within a regulated financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a dedicated cybersecurity role
• 2–5 years of general IT experience
• Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, GIAC/GSEC, or equivalent
• Expected to earn CySA+ or higher within six months
• Experience in financial services or regulated industry
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK
• Strong documentation and cross-team collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor security tools, investigate alerts, and help protect systems
• Investigate security events, document findings, identify root causes, and support incident response
• Manage vulnerability scanning and coordinate remediation with IT teams
• Fine-tune alerts and automate tasks with PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• Maintain security dashboards and metrics to track posture and trends
• Support audits by testing controls, gathering evidence, and documenting results
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to strengthen security practices
