Job summary

Seminole-Count seeks a security professional to support internal security teams under direct supervision. You will perform computer investigations, incident analysis, security reviews and assessments, and help strengthen security culture countywide.

The role involves monitoring endpoint security, coordinating incident responses, conducting vulnerability assessments, and documenting security procedures. Candidates should be enrolled in a cyber-related degree and may have security certifications.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or higher degree in Cybersecurity, MIS, CS, or related field.
• Preference for security certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, Security+).
• Comparable education or experience may be substituted for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor endpoint security technologies and respond to security events.
• Coordinate and conduct security incident response activities as part of the CIRT.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and recommend security improvements.
• Review compliance and remediation for security practices, policies, and procedures.
• Document procedures for cybersecurity program components.
• Keep up with emerging threats and technologies and assess county needs.
• Perform other duties as required; essential personnel during emergencies.
