Seminole County/Board of County Commissioners in Florida seeks a cybersecurity professional to support internal security teams and lead investigations, incident analysis, and security reviews. Under direct supervision, provides support for internal security teams. Performs computer investigations, incident analysis, security reviews and assessments. Manage daily operations based on established security procedures and practices, host-based security assessments, end-user security requests, and security incident response. Regularly collaborates with staff and some customers to strengthen the County's security culture by promoting security awareness and best practices.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

Monitor endpoint security technologies to rapidly respond to security events and make sure measures are in place to protect endpoints and enterprise systems.
Coordinate and conduct security incident response activities and participate as part of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT) to assess and mitigate security incidents and events.
Conduct technical analysis and assess threats posed by vulnerabilities and malicious codes (e.g., malware, root kits, etc.)
Review and perform vulnerability assessments on existing or new systems and recommend security improvements and course of action.
Review and assess compliance, and recommend remediation for security practices, policies, and procedures.
Provide recommendations and document procedures for all aspects of the cybersecurity program.
Maintain a proactive role understanding and evaluating current and emerging technologies and matching them with County needs.
Continually improves job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security threats, standards, practices, and security products.
Performs other related work as required.
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties and work varying schedules.
Candidates must be currently enrolled at a local college or university and working toward a bachelor's degree, master's degree, certificate, or equivalent credential in Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preference will be given to candidates with relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, Security+, etc.)
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Work requires a high degree of teamwork, coordination with customer departments, initiative, integrity, good judgment, and a positive attitude.
Position requires general knowledge and experience with multiple operating systems, in information technology infrastructure, systems, endpoints, and processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office Applications.
Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, customers, and citizens.
Must be able to learn new concepts quickly and resolve complex technical problems effectively.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize and prioritize tasks successfully.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's license.
