Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of technical IT experience, including at least 3 years in cybersecurity operations, incident response, threat hunting, or security engineering.
  • Experience in SOC, enterprise security team, or managed security environment.
  • Security+ certification required (or ability to obtain within six months).
  • CySA+, CISSP, GIAC, or other advanced cybersecurity certifications are highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Security Operations & Threat Management across security technologies and implementations.
  • Drive incident response efforts, investigate incidents, perform threat analysis, and coordinate containment and recovery actions.
  • Develop and refine incident response playbooks, run tabletop exercises, and support threat hunting activities.
  • Coordinate vulnerability assessments across networks, servers, applications, and cloud; track remediation with owners.
  • Support identity and access governance including reviews and provisioning.
  • Promote security awareness and provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business teams to build secure, scalable solutions.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you'll work across security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, cloud security, and identity governance. You'll collaborate with internal teams, managed security partners, and business stakeholders to strengthen our security posture while helping drive a culture of cybersecurity awareness throughout the organization.

What You’ll Do
Lead Security Operations & Threat Management
  • - Manage and optimize a diverse portfolio of cybersecurity technologies, including:
  • - Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR)
  • - Cloud Security (AWS & Azure)
  • - Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • - Privileged Access Management (PAM)
  • - Data Security and Vulnerability Management solutions
  • - Continuously monitor the security environment to identify, investigate, and mitigate threats.
Drive Incident Response Efforts
  • - Serve as a key point of contact for escalated alerts from Managed Detection and Response (MDR) providers.
  • - Investigate security incidents, perform threat analysis, and execute containment, remediation, and recovery actions.
  • - Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and effective communication during security events.
Enhance Security Processes
  • - Develop, maintain, and refine incident response playbooks and procedures.
  • - Participate in tabletop exercises and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen organizational resilience.
  • - Support proactive threat hunting and cybersecurity readiness activities.
Strengthen Vulnerability & Compliance Programs
  • - Coordinate and manage network, server, application, and cloud vulnerability assessments.
  • - Track remediation efforts and collaborate with system owners to reduce risk.
  • - Support compliance initiatives aligned with security frameworks such as NIST and assist with audit preparation and evidence collection.
Support Identity & Access Governance
  • - Assist with access reviews, user provisioning, and identity lifecycle activities.
  • - Help ensure secure authentication and authorization practices across the enterprise.
Promote Security Awareness
  • - Manage security awareness training programs and phishing simulation campaigns.
  • - Help foster a security-first culture through education, communication, and engagement initiatives.
Mentor and Collaborate
  • - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior cybersecurity team members.
  • - Partner with IT, compliance, infrastructure, and business teams to build secure and scalable solutions.
What You’re Looking For
Education & Experience
  • - Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • - 5+ years of technical IT experience, including:
  • - At least 3 years focused on cybersecurity operations, incident response, threat hunting, or security engineering.
  • - Proven experience working within a Security Operations Center (SOC), enterprise security team, or managed security environment.
Certifications
  • - Security+ certification required (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
  • - CySA+, CISSP, GIAC, or other advanced cybersecurity certifications are highly valued.
Technical Skills
  • - Strong knowledge of:
  • - Threat detection and incident response
  • - Network and host-based intrusion analysis
  • - Malware analysis and remediation
  • - Enterprise networking and security architecture
  • - Experience with:
  • - Windows and Linux environments
  • - Active Directory and Microsoft Intune
  • - Virtualization technologies
  • - Cloud environments (AWS and Azure)
  • - Familiarity with:
  • - PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages
  • - MITRE ATTACK framework
  • - Security monitoring and threat intelligence platforms
