Job summary

InDyne is seeking a qualified Information Assurance Specialist to support the Atlantic Test Range in Patuxent River, Maryland. This full-time role focuses on detecting, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats for DoD and commercial clients involved in live aircraft and weapons system testing.

Key responsibilities include deploying and managing SIEMs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability tools, while coordinating with government and contractor teams.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from accredited college.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience at Journeyman level; Junior level requires none.
  • In lieu of a BS, HS diploma with 9 years total related experience, or an Associate’s with 7 years total related experience.
  • Must meet DoD cybersecurity workforce policy requirements (8570.01-M/8140.01/SECNAV 5239.2).
  • Experience supporting DoD programs with STIG implementation and ACAS vulnerability scanning.
  • Experience using Microsoft Visio or equivalent for architecture and data flow diagrams.
  • Technical experience in system/network administration or software development is desirable.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely detection, identification, and response of possible attacks, intrusions, and misuse activities.
  • Implement and manage security tools including SIEMs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management tools, DLP, and data analytics platforms.
  • Use cyber defense tools for continual monitoring and analysis of systems to identify malicious activity.
  • Assess system vulnerabilities and direct development of mitigation strategies.
  • Review vulnerability data, security documentation, risk assessments, and authorization artifacts for technical quality.
  • Document cyber defense CONOPS, procedures, and diagrams.
  • Coordinate with government personnel, leadership, and contractor teams on cyber risk and authorization matters.

Job description

Overview

Background Information:

This full-time position supports the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. ATR is the Navy’s East Coast open-air test range and provides real-time test and evaluation (T&E) services including data acquisition, instrumentation, data analysis, recording, test management, and airspace management to DoD and commercial customers for live aircraft and weapons system testing and training mission support. The ISA will work in a fast-paced, rewarding technical environment at the forefront of Naval aviation test & evaluation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely detection, identification, and response of possible attacks/intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities and distinguish these incidents and events from benign activities
  • Implement and manage multiple security tools to include SIEM's, firewalls, IDS/IPS's, threat and vulnerability management tools, data loss prevention tools, filtering technologies, traffic inspection solutions, reporting technology, and data analytics platforms
  • Use cyber defense tools for continual monitoring and analysis of systems to identify malicious activity
  • Assess system vulnerabilities for security risks and direct development of mitigation strategies
  • Review vulnerability data, security documentation, risk assessments, and authorization artifacts for technical quality
  • Document cyber defense related CONOPS, procedures, and diagrams
  • Coordinate with Government technical personnel, program leadership, and contractor team members on cyber risk and authorization matters

Educational, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

  • Must have a BS Degree in a Computer Science, Computer Programming, Cybersecurity, or Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of work experience performing the stated or similar function to qualify at the Journeyman level. No experience required for Junior level.
  • In lieu of a BS Degree, a High School diploma or equivalent GED and a total of 9 years of work experience performing the stated or similar function, or an Associate’s Degree and a total of seven 7 years of related work experience may be accepted as a minimum requirement for Journeyman level. 6 years of experience with a High School diploma and 4 years of experience with an Associate’s Degree.
  • Must meet and maintain educational, training, and certification requirements in compliance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD) / Department of Navy (DoN) Cybersecurity Workforce policy (currently DoD 8570.01-M/8140.01/SECNAV 5239.2.
  • Experience in supporting DoD programs and systems with STIG implementation and ACAS/vulnerability scanning

Security Clearance:

  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
  • Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance

Work Conditions:

Conditions will vary. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees. Vision abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
