Job summary

Cybersecurity Jobs seeks a Full-time Cybersecurity Analyst to strengthen cyber defense at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD (onsite). You will monitor, detect, respond to incidents, assess vulnerabilities, and review authorization artifacts to ensure technical quality.

The role supports the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) with DoD/DoN policy compliance and opportunities for tuition and training reimbursement. Benefits include comprehensive insurance and PTO.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Cybersecurity, or an Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience for Journeyman level (No experience required for Junior).
  • In lieu of a BS Degree for Journeyman level: High School diploma or GED plus 9 years of related work experience, or Associate’s Degree plus 7 years of related work experience (also noted: 6 years with high school + 4 years with associate’s).
  • Must meet and maintain educational, training, and certification requirements in compliance with applicable DoD/DoN Cybersecurity Workforce policy (DoD 8570.01-M/8140.01/SECNAV 5239.2)
  • Experience supporting DoD programs and systems with STIG implementation and ACAS/vulnerability scanning
  • Experience using Microsoft Visio (or equivalent) for architecture and data flow diagrams
  • Technical experience in system administration, network administration, or software development is desired
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely detection, identification, and response of potential attacks or intrusions, anomalous activity, and misuse, including distinguishing these from benign events
  • Implement and manage multiple security tools, including SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, threat and vulnerability management tools, data loss prevention, filtering technologies, traffic inspection solutions, reporting technology, and data analytics platforms
  • Use cyber defense tools for continual monitoring and analysis to identify malicious activity
  • Assess system vulnerabilities for security risks and direct development of mitigation strategies
  • Review vulnerability data, security documentation, risk assessments, and authorization artifacts for technical quality
  • Document cyber defense CONOPS, procedures, and diagrams
  • Coordinate with Government technical personnel, program leadership, and contractor team members on cyber risk and authorization matters

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
High School diploma or GED for Journeyman level
Associate’s Degree + 7 years related work experience

Job description

Full-time Cybersecurity Analyst role supporting the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD (onsite). Security clearance and eligibility

Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase. Employment and start date are contingent upon receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance.

  • Conditions will vary; most work is performed in enclosed buildings, with some outside work possible
  • Work includes sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and reaching
  • Must be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs assisted by other employees
