Job summary

Alcoa is seeking a Cybersecurity Advisor to partner with business leaders and technology teams to identify cybersecurity risks and embed security into new initiatives across IT and OT in Pittsburgh. This highly collaborative, advisory-focused role blends cybersecurity architecture, governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, STEM, or related field.
• Significant experience in cybersecurity, Information Security, or related domains.
• Domain experience in 2+ of Cloud, IAM/Zero Trust, Data/DLP, and AI.
• Demonstrated experience advising internal customers to achieve objectives.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, CIS).
• Experience with incident response, risk assessment, and security operations.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate with enterprise teams, plant operations, and engineering.
• Strong integrity, judgment, and discretion in sensitive discussions.
• English proficiency; additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity guidance for system implementations, upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Review and influence secure architecture across IT and OT environments (ICS/SCADA, IoT, industrial networks).
• Conduct threat modeling and security design reviews for business and industrial systems.
• Enable and advance Alcoa initiatives in Cloud security, Zero Trust, Identity Management and AI governance.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize cybersecurity risks across IT and mining/manufacturing operations.
• Support risk mitigation plans and execution.
• Perform risk assessments for projects, vendors, and operational technologies.
• Support incident response planning and risk-based decision making.
• Consult on policy, standards, and procedures for IT/OT security.
• Drive oversight of security controls across projects in IT and OT.
• Recommend policy/controls enhancements aligned with frameworks & best practices.
• Support risk management activities, audits, and continuous improvement.
• Adhere to frameworks and regulations (ISO 27001, NIST, IEC 62443).
• Assist internal and external audits; maintain compliance documentation.
• Act as trusted advisor to business and technical stakeholders.
• Foster collaborative and service-oriented teams across Alcoa.
• Work with IT teams to ensure secure design, implementation, and operation of systems.
• Provide guidance on configurations, integrations, and remediation.
• Support company-wide awareness programs addressing emerging threats (cloud & AI).
