Job summary

Applied Research Solutions in Elkridge, MD seeks a full-time Instructor to support the Cyber Training Academy. You will deliver cybersecurity training at mobile sites, lead hands-on labs, and assess learner progress to achieve course objectives.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, CS, IT, or related field, 5+ years of IT experience, and an active Secret clearance. Excellent communication and collaboration with SMEs are essential; background investigations apply.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• 5+ years of professional IT experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience delivering technical instruction or training, preferably in government/DoD/corporate setting.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, network security, risk management, threats, and cyber domains.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with learning and virtual conferencing platforms and tools.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver cybersecurity training content, including foundational and advanced topics, using both physical and virtual environments.
• Facilitate hands-on labs and simulations to provide practical experience with real-world scenarios and tools.
• Assess student knowledge and provide timely feedback and remediation to support learning.
• Regularly update course materials, learning objectives, and training content to reflect new threats and evolving cyber tradecraft.
• Stay current with the latest hacking techniques, security trends, tools, and best practices.
• Utilize and maintain instructional platforms (LMS, virtual conferencing) to deliver and manage training.
• Collaborate with SMEs, CDTs, and other instructors to improve training programs.
• Engage in curriculum reviews and after-action reporting to ensure course effectiveness.
