Job summary

By Light Professional IT Services is hiring a Cyber Technical Instructor in Hanover, MD. The role focuses on delivering training for the Persistent Cyber Training Environment and related DoD cyber exercises, across virtual, in-person, or hybrid formats.

The candidate will develop curriculum, troubleshoot complex network configurations, and maintain current material. A TS/SCI clearance is preferred; travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or 6+ years in technical instruction or related field.
• 6–8 years of technical instruction with networking and cybersecurity.
• Complete Range Engineer 1 course within 30 days.
• CISSP or other DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, firewalls, LAN/WAN.
• Familiar with VMware, AD, Linux, Jira/Confluence, Puppet/Ansible.
• Ability to develop and deliver technical training programs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training on virtualization, networking, databases, authentication services, and related tech.
• Teach foundational to advanced networking concepts (routing, switching, subnets, security).
• Engage students with effective instruction and classroom management.
• Organize rosters, track progress, and prepare detailed progress reports.
• Evaluate assessments and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with instructors, engineers, and course developers to align training with DoD cyber readiness objectives.
• Maintain currency on course materials and emerging technologies.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and support to students and developers.
