Job summary

Old National Bank is seeking a Cybersecurity Detection and Response Engineer to enhance security monitoring and response platforms, focusing on Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR. You will build detections, support investigations, and automate security workflows to improve speed and accuracy across the SOC.

Responsibilities include incident response support, playbook design, and continuous improvement aligned with FFIEC, NIST, and banking regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of cybersecurity experience including monitoring, IR, or detection engineering.
• Experience administering Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR technologies.
• Strong KQL skills and experience developing detection logic, dashboards, or hunting queries.
• Experience with scripting or automation such as PowerShell, Python, APIs, Logic Apps, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, endpoint security, log analysis, and regulated environments.
• Interest in using AI-assisted tools to improve security operations, investigation, automation, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detections based on threat intel, ATT&CK, and emerging techniques.
• Conduct validation testing, threat hunting, and participate in red/purple-team testing.
• Identify monitoring gaps and implement telemetry and response improvements.
• Partner with SOC analysts, IT teams, and third-party providers to improve investigations.
