Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a Manager Cyber Systems Engineering 1 to lead a multi-disciplinary cyber/systems team and to drive secure architecture across space programs. The role combines functional management with hands-on technical leadership in a fast-moving program environment.

The candidate will oversee a team of engineers, ensure performance, mentor staff, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree; 3 years with a Master’s degree.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Technical depth in cybersecurity areas including risk management, software assurance, security architecture, monitoring, cryptography.

Responsibilities

• Functional oversight for a team of system or software engineers (10%).
• Technical contributor or manager in a program role (90%).
• Lead cyber engineering activities and drive performance excellence across engineering actions.
• Staffing, mentoring, and career development of team members; recruitment and contract management as needed.
• Support proposals, reviews, and program-related activities.
