Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to support DoD cyber-focused systems at Eglin AFB. The role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain or maintain a DoD security clearance.

Patching, system hardening, and documentation form core daily tasks, with travel welcome. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5+ years in DoD systems, and DoD 8570 IAT II certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months). Interims accepted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience with 5+ years DoD systems.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (or ability to achieve within 6 months).
• Active SECRET clearance required (interim acceptable).
• Experience with patch management and cybersecurity processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and analyze design constraints and detailed system and security design for the cyber domain.
• Conduct cybersecurity test and evaluation of hardware and/or software designs to verify compliance with specs.
• Implement assessment and authorization activities as required by customers.
• Respond to DoD guidance and engineer solutions for fielded systems.
