Cyber Security Systems Engineer (ISSE/ISSO) with Security Clearance

We are seeking a Cyber Security System Engineer (ISSE/ISSO) to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and effective solutions for our DoD customers within the IC sector.

Role Overview: The Cyber Security System Engineer (ISSE/ISSO) will be responsible for evaluating and maintaining the security posture of information systems. This role focuses on accreditation, vulnerability assessments, and compliance with IC and DoD security policies. The individual will work closely with system administrators, program staff, and external organizations to ensure security requirements are met and maintained.

Primary Duties:

  1. Conduct technical evaluation of information system design, focusing on information security aspects and accreditation.
  2. Utilize various system inspection tools to audit systems, analyze vulnerabilities, and identify mitigation approaches.
  3. Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support accreditation and other program protection activities.
  4. Prepare and review program documentation, including Risk Assessment Reports, Accreditation Packages, and security policy guides.
  5. Coordinate with external organizations and guide accreditation packages through the customer process.
  6. Review software installation requests and conduct technical risk assessments for software implementation.
  7. Work with system administrators to validate patching, antivirus definitions, and other security tools are up–to–date and secure.
  8. Coordinate and track security action requests and their status.
  9. Assist contractors with facility designs to incorporate appropriate security features and conduct pre–accreditation inspections.
  10. Conduct periodic assessments of contractor facilities to ensure compliance with security requirements.
  11. Resolve operational security issues involving supporting contractors.
  12. Maintain the operational security posture for the program.
  13. Conduct weekly auditing requirements and analyze results.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  2. Ability to provide technical expertise on computer network design, implementation, and accreditation.
  3. Experience in certification and accreditation processes, including DCID 6/3, ICD 503, and NIST 800–53 policies.
  4. Direct experience as an ISSO and/or ISSE, working with accreditations and interacting with program ISSM staff.
  5. Familiarity with applicable IC and DoD policies, procedures, and operating instructions related to program security, information assurance, and information management.
  6. Experience managing privileged user requirements.
  7. Must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  9. Ability to travel up to 25%.

  2. Experience with program security and information systems security best practices.
  3. Ability to provide oversight and coordination for multiple contractors supporting program objectives.
