Job summary

Park Place Technologies in Cleveland, OH is offering a cybersecurity internship at our Hybrid HQ. You will learn the tools used in the PPT SOC, including SIEM, EDR/XDR and case management, while contributing to threat intelligence and incident response activities.

You’ll review events, help develop security training, and gain hands-on experience across logs, incidents, and security best practices alongside our team.

Responsibilities

• Learn the tools used in the PPT SOC, including SIEM, EDR/XDR and case management tools.
• Learn and contribute to the threat intelligence and analysis process.

• Review logs and events to investigate anomalous activity.
• Develop and execute security awareness training.
• Educates employees about the proper way to handle possible compromised systems.
• Stays abreast of developments in Information Security and IT security fields.
• Analyze security incidents to determine root cause.
• Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
• Define and create a security capstone project to encapsulate what was learned through the internship.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll be doing:

What we are looking for:

• Interest in cyber security and information technology.
• Introductory knowledge of security concepts: AV, Firewall, etc.
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
• Good communication skills (Verbal and Written).
• Strong analy tical skills
• Ability to effectively work and interact with customers and team members.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in information technology, software development or security a plus
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems a plus
• Experience with coding or scripting languages a plus

Education:

• Studying toward a degree in Cybersecurity, Technology, Intelligence, or other related field
• Relevant security related certifications a plus: CISSP, GCIA, GSEC, GCIH, GCED, GCFA, GREM.
