Job summary

Mission Solutions Group is seeking a motivated Cyber Security Intern to join our Information Security team. You will gain hands-on experience identifying vulnerabilities, monitoring network traffic, and supporting security compliance initiatives.

You will work with experienced engineers to protect critical assets, learn incident response playbooks, and contribute to automation efforts while balancing academic commitments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/Cyber Security.
• Fundamental networking knowledge.
• Basic OS administration knowledge (Windows, Linux/Unix, macOS).
• Familiarity with encryption, firewalls, IAM, OWASP Top 10.
• Scripting in Python/PowerShell/Bash or similar.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, logs, and dashboards (SIEM) to identify incidents.
• Assist with vulnerability scans and patch management tracking.
• Help investigate security incidents and document findings.
• Develop and review security awareness materials and phishing simulations.
• Support documentation for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST compliance.
• Collaborate on automation scripts to streamline security tasks.
