Society Insurance invites applications for a Cybersecurity Intern during the 2027 Summer session. The role offers hands-on exposure to security operations, risk management, and awareness programs within a supportive IT environment.

You will work on reviewing alerts, vulnerability remediation tracking, access reviews, and security documentation, while learning from experienced staff. This paid internship emphasizes practical experience and potential full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing associate or bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems, networking, and cybersecurity concepts.
• Willingness to learn new tools and complete tasks accurately and on time.
• Coursework projects or labs involving security monitoring, vulnerability assessment, or Windows administration desirable.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Excel; scripting basics desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing security alerts, logs, and phishing emails; document findings and escalate as needed.
• Help review vulnerability reports and track remediation with IT staff.
• Assist with user access reviews, asset inventories, and verification of security controls.
• Update security procedures, knowledge articles, and incident documentation.
• Support security awareness communications, training, and phishing simulations.
• Collect and organize evidence for audits, risk assessments, and CIS Controls activities.
• Assist with cybersecurity projects, basic reporting, and research as assigned.
• Follow security policies and protect confidential information.
