Job summary

Stafford County Government is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our team and strengthen the security and resilience of our technology environment. You’ll work across Microsoft 365 security and compliance, SIEM, vulnerability management, threat detection, incident response, cloud and endpoint security, and identity protection.

You’ll protect systems and information employees and the community rely on, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with IT and business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information security or related field with 5–7 years of cyber security experience.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 security administration, SIEM, vulnerability management, incident response, and threat analysis.
• Ability to communicate security findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Administers and improves Microsoft 365 security, compliance, identity, endpoint and data protection.
• Operates and enhances the SIEM and security monitoring program with dashboards and automation.
• Monitors security alerts, triages incidents, and coordinates response activities.
