Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Junior Cyber Security Engineer to support DoD tasks in Bethesda, MD, on-site. A Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph eligibility is required. The role focuses on secure system design, RMF/SDLC integration, and DoD compliance across the lifecycle.

As part of the team, you will implement security controls, develop SSPs/SARs, apply STIGs, and use SCAP/ACAS for validation. A technical degree and Level II DoD cert are preferred for growth in a center of excellence.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field with DoD cybersecurity experience.
• One IASAE Level II DoD certification or equivalent.
• Experience RMF integration into SDLC and implementing controls.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and DoD security guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support secure architecture, design, and DoD system implementation.
• Lead RMF activities within the SDLC, selecting and validating controls.
• Develop SSPs, SARs, risk assessments, and POA&Ms.
• Apply STIGs and validate compliance using SCAP, STIG Viewer, ACAS.
• Maintain scanning infrastructure and analyze vulnerabilities for mitigation.
