Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer II to join the Product Security team in a hybrid role. The position supports security of Worldpay products and collaborates with engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities and promote secure development practices in US offices (Denver, Atlanta, Cincinnati).

You will drive security patterns, mentorship, and threat modeling efforts to protect APIs, web apps, and cloud services, with a focus on PCI and privacy standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer engineering, computer science or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of cyber security experience.
  • Experience in product security and software security.
  • Experience with Java and/or .NET.
  • Experience using DAST, SAST, and SCA tools.
  • Experience securing APIs, web applications, and WAF.
  • Experience conducting threat modeling using STRIDE methodologies.

Job Description

Cyber Security Engineer II position in the Product Security team. The role is hybrid (3 days per week) in one of the US offices: Atlanta, GA; Cincinnati, OH; or Denver, CO. The position is not eligible for remote work or visa sponsorship.

What You'll Own

As a Cyber Security Engineer II, you will be responsible for the security of the products that the Worldpay teams build. You will work with engineering teams to explain detected software vulnerabilities and recommend remediation options. You will promote controls to secure software throughout the development lifecycle and build reference implementations for security patterns (e.g., authentication, encryption).

  • Explain detected vulnerabilities in software and recommend remediation options
  • Build security awareness—highlight active exploits and assess urgency levels
  • Align solutions with PCI, SOC, GDPR, CCPA, and cloud security best practices
  • Communicate security concerns and design options to business stakeholders
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
  • 5+ years of cyber security experience
  • Experience in product security
  • Software security and software engineering experience
  • Experience with Java and/or .NET
  • Experience using DAST, SAST, and SCA tools and services
  • Experience securing APIs, web applications, and WAF protection
  • Experience conducting threat modeling exercises using industry standard methodologies (e.g., STRIDE)
It’s a Bonus if You Have
  • Expertise in authentication and authorization protocols, cryptography, and application security
  • Experience analyzing threats of cloud and application components
  • Payment industry and PCI experience
  • Security+ certification, Network+ certification, CEH
  • Experience supporting incident response activities, including pre- and post-incident analysis

Benefits

Competitive compensation with an estimated annual salary range of $79,400.00–$116,975.00 for this full-time position, commensurate with experience. The role may require relocation cost adjustments. Candidates may redact age information from application materials in Colorado.
