Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, designs, builds, and supports U.S. Navy ships and cyber-secure systems in Newport News, Virginia. We seek candidates with a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience; DoD RMF knowledge and STIGs experience are highly valued. U.S. citizenship is required to start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Equivalent qualifications may substitute a Bachelor's Degree.
• US Citizenship is required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Designs, tests, and implements secure OS, networks, and database products.
• Conducts risk assessment and provides design recommendations for applications.
• Involved in DoD RMF tasking and security controls documentation.
• Assists system owning engineers with selection and implementation of security controls on networks and systems.
• Experience with network technologies (Layer 3 switches, firewalls) and tools (Wireshark, Splunk) is desirable.
