Job summary

The University of Arizona’s University Information Technology Services (UITS) is seeking an IT Architect to manage Proxmox virtualization, Ceph storage, and networking for the College of Information Science Cybersecurity Learning Environment. This hybrid role is based at the Tucson Campus with on-site work two days per week.

Responsibilities include infrastructure operations, virtualization, storage management, security hardening, and collaboration with campus IT services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional learning.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant infrastructure or systems administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and administer the on-prem Proxmox virtualization cluster.
• Manage Ceph distributed storage and KVM/QEMU VMs.
• Maintain networking (Proxmox SDN), VLANs, firewall rules, and access controls.
• Perform OS patching, template maintenance, and platform updates.
• Monitor system availability and incident response; maintain runbooks and change logs.
