Job summary

University of Arizona's IT Services is seeking an IT Cyber Range Architect III to manage the on-prem Proxmox cluster, Ceph storage, and networking for the Cyber Range. This hybrid role requires on-site work two days weekly and focuses on virtualization, storage, and infrastructure operations.

The ideal candidate will oversee hardware lifecycle, patching, monitoring, automation, and documentation, in collaboration with campus IT and security teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Experience with Linux infrastructure, virtualization, and storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and administer the on-prem Proxmox virtualization cluster.
• Manage Ceph storage, health, replication, and quotas.
• Configure networking, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and NAT; monitor security boundaries.
• Perform OS patching, templates, and updates across infra components.
• Maintain runbooks, change logs, and incident postmortems.
