Job summary

The MITRE Corporation in McLean, Virginia, seeks a Critical Infrastructure Protection Intern to support the security and resilience of cyber-physical systems against evolving non-kinetic threats. You’ll work with engineers and analysts on ICS/OT security, hardware-in-the-loop ranges, and adversary emulation platforms such as Caldera for OT.

Qualifications

• Must be a full‑time student pursuing an accredited degree program in a technical discipline and continue enrollment the semester after internship.
• Foundational knowledge in cybersecurity and/or OT methodologies, frameworks, tools, and programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Apply cybersecurity, OT, and systems engineering skills to OT/ICS security and resilience tasks.
• Support HITL ranges, OT hardware/software troubleshooting, and integration activities.
• Contribute to threat-informed analysis of adversary capabilities and operational risk for policy guidance.
• Assist in design, documentation, and evaluation of proof‑of‑concept capabilities using OT concepts and emerging tech.
• Collaborate with sponsors and mission partners to strengthen critical infrastructure security.
