Job summary

Knight Federal Solutions Inc. supports Joint Staff J7 and the Deployable Training Division in delivering comprehensive joint training and feedback to commanders and staffs.

The candidate will focus on planning cyber operations at theater and national levels and ensure integration with fires and global operations, while mentoring training personnel during multinational exercises. The role requires active DoD clearance or ability to obtain Top Secret, willingness to travel up to 25%, and on-site

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of professional and/or military operational experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Joint Forces Staff College or service equivalent is preferred.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance in time.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Joint Staff J7, Joint Training, Deployable Training Division (DTD) in providing joint training and feedback to commanders.
  • Focuses on planning cyber operations at theater/national levels and integration with fires and operations.
  • Mentors and trains Observer Trainers (OTs) and Analyst Trainers (ATs) within DTD’s Fires and Effects Section.

Magazine.As Knight Federal Solutions continues to grow, we look forward to hiring the best and the brightest to join us in our success!Role Responsibilities• Supports the Joint Staff J7, Joint Training, Deployable Training Division (DTD) inproviding a continuum of individual, staff, and collective joint training to enhance theoperational effectiveness of the current and future joint force.• The selected candidate will provide observation, training, and feedback, focused at theoperational and strategic levels, to Joint Force Commanders and their staffs during jointand multi-national training, exercises, and staff assist visits (SAVs).• Observation, training, and feedback will focus on involve planning of Cyber Operationsand how that planning is synchronized across war fighting functions and domains, andhow cyber operations are integrated into lethal and non-lethal fires and globallyintegrated operations.• The position requires knowledge and/or experience in planning cyber operations at thetheater operational and/or national strategic level.• Acts as a subject matter expert and trainer in cyber operations in joint, multinational,interagency, and globally integrated exercises and operations• Integrates into, contributes to, and provides functional continuity in the DTD’s Fires andEffects Section, which consists of military Observer Trainers (OTs) and contractorAnalyst Trainers (ATs) providing training and observation in Fires and Targeting,Cyberspace Operations, Space Operations, Public Affairs, Integrated Air and MissileDefense, and Operations in the Information Environment (OIE)• Mentors, trains, and supports new OTs• Participates as a member of Deployable Training Teams (DTTs) comprised of OTs andATs observing, training, and providing feedback to commanders and their staffs duringChairman’s Exercise Program (CEP) exercises and other joint and multinationalexercises, as well as for Mission Rehearsal Exercises and Staff Assistance Visits fornamed operations• Ascertains key command challenges at the operational and strategic levels of war andconducts cross-functional analysis of information gathered from joint exercises andtraining events for the development of lessons learned, insights, and best practices• Understands strategic thought and direction as it guides and is influenced by campaign,deliberate, and crisis planning at the operational level• Researches national strategic documents, historical exercise documents, real worldoperations, the operating environment, command mission, organization, plans, andorders, as well as interagency and coalition policies, strategies, and plans• Conducts trend analysis, understands and improves battle rhythms, providesobservation and training, ties phased operational planning to strategic thought, anddevelops feedback• Develops the Commander’s Facilitated After-Action Review (FAAR), ExecutiveSummary Report (ESR), Combined Functional Report (CFR), and Internal After ActionReview (IAAR), Post-event debriefs and summaries, and input into the Joint LessonsLearned Information System (JLLIS)• Updates and maintains documents, articles, and periodicals such as "Joint OperationsInsights and Best Practices" and joint functional area focus papers• Develops and facilitates seminars for the National Defense University’s Senior LeaderEducation Program Joint Operations Modules (PINNACLE, CAPSTONE, andKEYSTONE)Basic Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of professional and/or military operationalexperience;
