How you'll make an impact

  • Lead a high-performing team of network and secure edge engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Relay management and client expectations to team members.
  • Coach and mentor technical staff, ensuring skill development and alignment with evolving network security trends and business priorities.
  • Serve as a strategic liaison between Optiv AFC Operations and client stakeholders.
  • Manage client delivery teams, overseeing performance, SLAs, and partnership effectiveness in delivering secure managed services.
  • Consult with clients to incorporate their requirements into the service design.
  • Ensure clients understand how the service operates.
  • Relay service success stories, risks, and outages to clients.
  • Partner with sales and practice managers to clarify service definitions and support their activities.
  • Collaborate with other managers to build synergy across functions.
  • Allocate resources across managed security services to ensure organizational success.
  • Deliver high-quality, predictable services by applying appropriate leadership styles.
  • Foster ownership and accountability within the team.
  • Report on service success, risks, and outages to upper management.
  • Track and report resource allocation for effective management.
  • Adjust communication strategies based on the audience.
Process
  • Establish and enforce operational standards for secure network design, change management, and incident response across hybrid environments.
  • Drive automation in policy deployment, configuration management, and health monitoring.
  • Implement and oversee quality controls to ensure process adherence.
  • Measure and report on process and procedure metrics.
  • Guide the integration of telemetry into incident response workflows and SIEM/SOAR pipelines.
  • Develop and monitor operational KPIs such as availability, threat coverage, and performance.
Technology
  • Own the strategy and implementation of secure edge solutions like SD-WAN, SASE, ZTNA, CASB, SWG, and DNS security.
  • Modernize and secure hybrid network infrastructure for resilient, scalable, and encrypted connectivity.
  • Implement Zero Trust principles, including identity-aware access and microsegmentation.
  • Ensure seamless integration of security platforms.
  • Keep pace with vendor releases and technological advancements.
  • Reduce technology debt by consolidating investments and leveraging shared solutions.
  • Maintain managerial knowledge of relevant technologies.
What we're hiring for
  • 3–5 years leading technical teams in MSSP or service provider environments, focusing on multi-tenant operations and client service delivery.
  • 7–10+ years in network and security engineering, with hands-on experience in enterprise firewalls, SD-WAN, VPNs, SASE, and edge security solutions.
  • At least 3 years applying Zero Trust principles in multi-client environments.
  • Experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid patterns.
  • Proven process development for onboarding, security controls, and maintaining service levels.
  • Excellent client communication skills, translating technical outcomes into business value.
  • Knowledge of integrating telemetry into SIEM/SOAR platforms.
  • Understanding of MSSP-related frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, PCNSE, or cloud/network certifications preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work independently, with a valid driver’s license, and respond to incidents outside business hours.
  • Willingness to travel at least 10%.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous management experience leading a Network/Secure Edge team.
  • Experience in a Security Operations Center environment.
  • Familiarity with technologies from Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point, Zscaler, and NetSkope.
  • Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or other managerial security certifications.
  • Service management certifications such as ITIL or ISO.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields.
