Job summary

Venture-backed defense AI software company in Washington, DC seeks a Cyber Mission Engagement Lead to own outcomes with government customers. You will shape pilots, manage engagements, and coordinate with Product and Engineering to deliver missions with measurable impact.

The role requires independence in ambiguous settings, strong storytelling to explain needs, and collaboration across security, operations, and mission teams. Expect time in secure spaces.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance and U.S. Person status.
• 5+ years working in or alongside the U.S. cyber mission community.
• Direct experience supporting or working with U.S. Cyber Command.
• Proven ability to lead across functions without close direction.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to turn ambiguity into clear plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead cyber mission engagements with operators, analysts, planners, and senior leaders to understand priorities and capability gaps.
• Convert operational challenges into problem statements, requirements, success measures, and roadmaps.
• Connect AI capabilities to cyber workflows across planning, targeting, intelligence, and defensive operations.
• Shape pilots and adoption, defining objectives, timelines, and transition plans to sustained use.
• Speak in mission terms, tying technology to workflows and measurable impact.
• Drive execution across customer engagements, reviews, and risk mitigation with multiple stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Product and Engineering to ensure missions shape future builds.
• Navigate enterprise processes including budgets and security considerations.
• Enable users through onboarding and change management for sustained capability use.
• Grow footprint by maintaining deep knowledge of customer needs and evolving cyber challenges.
