Job summary

The Montana Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation is seeking a Crime Analyst to support statewide law enforcement by collecting, storing and analyzing criminal intelligence to identify trends and assist investigations.

The position requires a degree with data analysis, plus 2 years of intelligence analysis experience; eligibility for a Secret/Top-Secret clearance within 12 months is required. Telework not available; full-time on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any field with data analysis/research (criminal justice, law, social science, math, or CS).
• Two years of professional experience in governmental intelligence analysis with a criminal justice, military, or governmental intelligence agency.
• Within 12 months of hire, start the process to obtain a Secret and/or Top-Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Gather, evaluate, and report information for detecting and identifying criminal activities.
• Analyze raw data, uncover patterns, and develop links between criminals and groups.
• Present results and summaries to support enforcement and prosecution efforts.
