Job summary

Cherokee Federal seeks a Cyber Security Engineer III (Cyber Implementation Engineer) in Springfield, VA to design and operate secure cloud- and on-premises cyber solutions. You will work across Windows and Linux environments, leveraging AWS components and DoD standards.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in DoD cybersecurity, strong communication skills, and hold DoD 8140/8570 certifications with TS/SCI clearance. Polygraph readiness may be required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years related technical experience in network/cybersecurity engineering.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks.
• Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a Polygraph.
• Certified DoD 8140.01 IAT III and DoD 8570.01-M IASAE II.
• Strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, configure, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based cybersecurity infrastructure.
• Engineer and implement cybersecurity solutions using AWS services (EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, RDS).
• Assist with enterprise-wide cybersecurity enhancements to support business goals.
• Develop and maintain architecture diagrams and roadmaps.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and assessors for security authorizations.
