Job summary

Cherokee Preting, part of Cherokee Federal, is seeking a Systems Engineer - Expert to design, develop, and maintain a Cloud-Native Service architecture for use by software development teams. The role involves providing technical guidance and prioritizing cloud implementations, with a 24/7 on-call rotation to keep mission-critical services operational.

Requirements include TS/SCI with Polygraph, 11+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s, Linux expertise, and extensive AWS/DevOps experience.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• Minimum of eleven (11) years of prior relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Expert level proficiency in Linux-based operating systems.
• Strong Bash skills.
• Experience with AWS and cloud technologies.
• Experience with security accreditation processes.
• Ability to support system administration and privileged access duties with on-call rotation.
• Experience with Elastic tools and AWS Console/CLI.
• Excellent communication skills and detail-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and deliver an innovative product or service that meets customer requirements.
• Support enterprise software solutions within AWS.
• Develop innovative approaches using proven guidelines.
• Perform security patching.
• Support servers in an AWS environment.
• Provide execution guidance to mission teams.
• Ensure mission-critical applications run 24/7.
• Support a COTS service with LDAP integration.
