Job summary

Vertin seeks a Cybersecurity Support Technician to monitor networks for security issues, install security software, and document breaches. The role focuses on preventing cyberattacks and safeguarding data for clients and associates.

Ideal candidates have experience with penetration testing, firewalls, SIEM, SentinelOne, and patch management, plus a relevant bachelor's degree. This on-site Minnesota position offers comprehensive benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Support Technician or similar role.
• Experience with network penetration testing techniques.
• Knowledge of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
• Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain prevention.
• Experience with MFA tools (e.g., Duo).
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience with SentinelOne.
• Understanding of patch management and timely deployment.
• Cyber incident response experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor computer systems and networks for security issues and breaches.
• Investigate and document security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
• Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure.
• Test company software, firmware, and firewalls to keep them current and secure.
• Help develop security standards and best practices for the organization.
• Train associates on network and data security procedures and best practices.
• Respond to system and network security breaches.
• Run diagnostic tests to identify vulnerabilities, then patch or update systems as needed.
• Prepare reports documenting security audit findings and remediation strategies.
• Recommend modifications in legal, technical, and regulatory areas affecting IT security.
