Job summary

Maximus seeks a cybersecurity operations professional to join the Technology and Consulting Services team. You will support advanced containment, remediation, and threat-hunting activities across enterprise IT and OT environments.

This role requires a 4+ year track record in cybersecurity operations, the ability to document actions for audit-ready records, and the flexibility to operate in a 24/7 environment. A bachelor’s degree and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or enterprise security support roles.
• Ability to document actions for audit-ready records and knowledge transfer artifacts.
• Experience across hybrid environments (cloud, on‑prem, network).

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced support for cybersecurity operations across IT/OT environments.
• Perform escalation-level response actions and coordinate directed cyber activities.
• Lead containment and restoration efforts during security incidents with timely resolution.
• Ensure actions are fully documented for auditability and knowledge transfer.
• Coordinate remediation across infrastructure, apps, cloud, and networks.
• Support vulnerability management and alignment with federal guidance.
• Assist in incident response workflows and adherence to procedures.
• Monitor security events, perform triage, and escalate when needed.
• Contribute to security metrics and continuous process improvements.
