Job summary

Erias Ventures, LLC is seeking a Cyber Defense Analyst to monitor networks, hunt for threats, and coordinate incident responses on an 8x5 shift at Fort Meade, MD. The role emphasizes advanced analysis of PCAPs, logs, and host/network activity to detect, triage, and report cyber incidents.

Candidate must hold Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph and have DoD 8570 and GIAC certifications, with five or more years of CDA experience in complex programs.

Qualifications

• Two years of TCP/IP fundamentals experience.
• Three years of SIEM experience (Splunk/ArcSight/Kibana/LogRhythm).
• Three years of network analysis & threat software usage.
• Knowledge of ATT&CK framework mapping to detections.
• Experience with PCAP analysis and netflow analysis.
• Familiar with IDS/IPS, firewalls, and enterprise networks.
• Understanding of Windows hardening and abuse vectors (RDP, Kerberos, NTLM, WMI, SMB).
• Proficient in Hunt/Threat intel lifecycle and signature development.

Responsibilities

• Monitor networks using defense tools and triage anomalous activity.
• Create cybersecurity cases with event history and potential impact.
• Analyze protocols, traffic, and host behaviors to identify TTPs.
• Correlate events for situational awareness and incident response.
• Lead and mentor team members as a technical expert.
• Prepare after-action reviews and improve tooling and signatures.
