Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Colorado is seeking a Cyber Defense Analyst to monitor, investigate, and respond across BNS enclaves, mission ground systems, and labs. You will work hands-on in consoles, deploy sensors, and tune detections under senior engineers.

You will triage events, investigate across host, network, and identity data, and act as first responder during incidents. The role requires TS/SCI with eligibility and DoD 8140 certification, onsite with limited travel.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, IT operations, or system administration.
• Familiarity with SIEM/EDR concepts and investigating events.
• Understanding of attack techniques and MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Clear, concise written investigation notes for senior staff and customers.
• Active U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility and SAP access determination.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage security events across SIEM, EDR, network sensors, and logs.
• Investigate across host, network, and identity data to build a timeline.
• Serve as first responder during incidents and contain per playbooks.
• Hunt alongside senior team members and learn normal behavior.
• Support audit and insider threat review with privileged user activity monitoring.
• Tighten detections, reduce false positives, and improve playbooks.
• Script recurring triage and reporting tasks.
