Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Cyber AI Deployment Engineer to partner with customers and apply OpenAI models, APIs, Codex, and agentic workflows to cybersecurity use cases. You will interact with CISOs and security teams to design safe deployment patterns and validate outcomes.

The role is based in OpenAI's San Francisco HQ, with relocation support for new employees. You will collaborate across Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, and Engineering to deliver secure AI workflows.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of technical consulting, solutions engineering, security architecture, or equivalent customer-facing technical experience.
• Strong cybersecurity domain expertise across AppSec, cloud security, identity, vulnerability management, or incident response.
• Ability to communicate credibly with CISOs and security leaders.
• Hands-on experience building prototypes or production systems with APIs, Python/JS, scripts, CLIs, logs, and scanners.
• Understand AI workflows with retrieval, structured outputs, tool use, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop review.

Responsibilities

• Embed with strategic customers as the technical lead for AI-enabled cybersecurity workflows.
• Lead discovery across AppSec, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, SOC/IR, and cloud security.
• Build demos, prototypes, workshops, and reference architectures using OpenAI APIs, Codex, agents, and GitHub workflows.
• Scope pilots with clear success criteria, data needs, and evaluation methods.
• Advise on safe implementation patterns, including guardrails and data handling.
• Translate CISO outcomes to practitioner implementation details.
• Create reusable assets like playbooks and narratives.
• Deliver high-signal feedback to Product, Engineering, Security, and GTM teams.
