Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) to deliver adult, school, and child/youth counseling for military families. The role requires a Master’s in a mental health field and an independent counseling license, with DoD/DoDEA school experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited Graduate Program in a Mental Health field.
• Current unrestricted independent counseling license meeting state requirements.
• Experience with military families and DoD DoDEA settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling to children and youth of military service members.
• Deliver CYB counseling services at DoDEA and community schools, and support DoD programs.
• Conduct training and health presentations; consult with parents, personnel, schools, and command.
• Enter counselor activity data daily and maintain confidentiality.
• Develop relationships with community resources and ensure linkage to services.
• Provide staff support, parent training, and participation in quality improvement activities.
