Job summary

Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a qualified individual to provide specialized developmental care and instruction for children and youth from 6 weeks to 18 years in CY programs. The incumbent will mentor CY Program Assistants, train staff, and help translate training into practice while ensuring DoD standards are met.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs for children and youth 6 weeks to 18 years.
• Knowledge of child and youth development principles and practices.
• Ability to train employees on issues including child health and safety.
• Ability to plan, organize, and schedule staff and activities.
• Ability to develop curricula outlines and lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Mentor CY Program Assistants and lead training for lower-level staff.
• Plan activities based on observed needs and implement events for participants.
• Supervise and ensure safety of children and youth during indoor/outdoor activities and field trips.
• Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and installation personnel.
• Assist in assessment tasks and track developmental progress.
