Job summary

L.B. Foster Company is seeking a Yard Worker in Nampa, ID to operate forklifts, move material around the yard, load precast products, and manage yard inventory. This role involves outdoor work year-round and requires adherence to safety policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous yard or warehouse experience.
• Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
• Able to exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 40 lbs frequently, and up to 20 lbs constantly.

Responsibilities

• Operate an 18,000 pounds forklift and yard truck safely and efficiently.
• Operate hand tools and various saws; loader and other equipment a plus.
• Provide ground hand signals to other operators.
• Examine received material to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Ship production products per planning schedule and ensure paperwork is accurate and complete.
• Perform all pre-shift inspections prior to equipment operation.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are...

As a Yard Worker you will be responsible for operating forklifts of various sizes, moving material throughout the facility, loading precast products, and managing product yard inventory while following standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure efficiency. You will be working outside year around.

This Position...

• Trained and demonstrate competence in operation of a 18,000 pounds forklift and yard truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to operate hand tools and various saws.
• Operation of loader and other equipment, a plus
• Knowledge of proper rigging and principles.
• Provide ground hand signals to other operators.
• Examine received material to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Responsible for shipping of production products per Planning Schedule and ensure all paperwork is accurate and complete.
• Perform all pre-shift inspections prior to equipment operation.
• Professionally interact with internal and external customers.
• Other duties as assigned.
