Job summary

The Suddath Companies in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator to safely operate a range of powered material handling equipment, move and stack merchandise, and support shipping, receiving and inventory tasks. The role requires basic forklift operation experience and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading, staging product, and ensuring accurate shipment preparation.

• Minimum 6 months verifiable work experience operating material handling equipment within the last 36 months.
• Experience with sit-down or stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, cherry-pickers or similar is required.

Sunday-Wednesday, 2:00pm-12:30am

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift or other powered material handling equipment (MHE) to move, stack, or pick/pull merchandise. The scope of this position includes all phases of warehousing depending on needs including, shipping, receiving, inventorying, product repackaging, palletizing and forklift operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards including daily inspection and maintenance.
• Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered MHE equipped with lifting devices (to include; forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch or motorized pallet rider).
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
• Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring accuracy for loading and shipments.
• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers or containers.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Perform pick and pack, light assembly, labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.
• Keep appropriate records and reports to ensure proper inventory control and security measures are followed and maintained.
• May assist in physical inventories.

Education & Experience Minimum 6 months verifiable work experience in the prior 36 months operating material handling equipment as required by role (sit down/stand up forklift, reach truck, cherry/order picker, etc.)
