Job summary

LB Foster is seeking a Yard Worker to operate forklifts, move materials, and manage yard inventory outdoors year-round. You will loading precast products, following safe practices, and maintaining accurate paperwork while coordinating with teams and customers.

The role emphasizes safety, communication, and teamwork, with opportunities to grow in a yard/warehouse environment. A high school diploma and prior forklift experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in yard or warehouse environment.
• Forklift operation experience preferred.
• Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates ability to follow instructions and work positively within a team.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Good visual acuity.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts of various sizes to move material throughout the facility.
• Load precast products and manage yard inventory.
• Maintain safe work practices and clean work area (5S).
• Shipped production per planning schedule with accurate paperwork.
• Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to use.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are...

As a Yard Worker you will be responsible for operating forklifts of various sizes, moving material throughout the facility, loading precast products, and managing product yard inventory while following standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure efficiency. You will be working outside year around.

This Position...

• Attends daily safe start meetings and follows all safe work practices and procedures.
• Comply with all company safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain 5S standards to ensure a clean and safe work area.
• Trained and demonstrate competence in operation of a 18,000 pounds forklift and yard truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to operate hand tools and various saws.
• Operation of loader and other equipment, a plus
• Knowledge of proper rigging and principles.
• Provide ground hand signals to other operators.
• Examine received material to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Responsible for shipping of production products per Planning Schedule and ensure all paperwork is accurate and complete.
• Perform all pre-shift inspections prior to equipment operation.
• Professionally interact with internal and external customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

What Do You Need...
