Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a senior IT consultant to own the technical architecture and engineering integrity of the Customer Experience Systems portfolio. You will lead solution design, platform engineering, and lifecycle management to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable customer-facing solutions.

The role requires CCaaS expertise, experience migrating to Genesys Cloud CX, and guiding technical teams across integration, security, and performance domains.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related technical field is required.
Eight or more years of progressive experience in software development, architecture, or related discipline.
Experience providing technical leadership for complex enterprise applications, platforms, integrations, or software delivery initiatives.

Responsibilities

Define current-state, transition-state, and future-state architecture and the engineering roadmap for Customer Experience Systems.
Lead technical discovery and assess feasibility, complexity, dependencies, risk, effort, capacity, and sequencing.
Lead design reviews, risk management, cross-team dependency resolution, and engineering quality reviews.
Convert portfolio priorities into architecture deliverables, engineering tasks, and technical work plans.
