Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Quality Control Inspection Supervisor to oversee QA activities on industrial or commercial construction projects. The role involves planning inspections, reviewing design documentation for compliance, and applying SPC to monitor processes and improvements.

You will collaborate with project teams, inspect welding and PVC piping systems, and ensure purchased components meet quality requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of quality control inspection supervisor experience on industrial or commercial construction projects.
• Experience in fabrication and welding inspections.
• Experience inspecting PVC and other specialty process piping materials.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration to assure quality of product or component.
• Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with requirements.
• Applies SPC methods to analyze data and evaluate processes.
• Engage with General Contractor QA Manager for inspection planning and non-conformance management.
• Provide project quality expectations to new inspectors.
• Attend weekly project update meetings with the project group.
• Review all purchased products or components and input on acceptance.
• Document data from QA activities per company policies.
• Communicate significant QA issues and propose process improvements to management.
• Prepare reports communicating QA involvement and results; maintain knowledge of QA codes and standards.

Job description

• Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
• Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
• Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
• Engage with the General Contractor’s Quality Assurance Manager for inspection planning, project compliance, non-conformance management, quality audits.
• Provide project quality expectations to new inspectors.
• Attend weekly project update meetings with the project group including upcoming activities, status and deadlines.
• Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
• Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
• Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
• Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of Quality Control Inspection supervisor experience supporting:
  • Industrial or commercial construction projects (semiconductor preferred)
  • Fabrication and welding inspections
• Experience inspecting specialty welding applications and plastic piping systems such as:
  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) Other specialty process piping materials

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• Experience inspecting carbon steel, stainless steel, and high-purity process piping systems
