Job summary

SME is seeking an experienced NDT Inspector to perform bolted and welded connection reviews on building and fabrication sites across Michigan. You will conduct NDT of welds and structural members, witness tests, collect samples, and help ensure quality across projects.

Role requires travel within the state, physical work including lifting up to 50 lbs, PPE usage, and working at heights. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification required.
• ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II certification for UT/MT/PT or equivalent NDT training.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform bolted and welded structural connection reviews on buildings and fabrication shops.
• Perform NDT of welds and structural members using UT/MT/PT methods.
• Field witnessing, sample collection and lab testing, including welder performance and procedure qualifications.
• Assist with other service reviews or testing to support SME teams.
