Job summary

UF Health is looking for a dedicated professional to perform echocardiograms on adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. Candidates must have strong skills in anatomy and ultrasound physics and excellent communication abilities.

The position requires a GED or High School Diploma, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, and must obtain CCI or ARDMS certification within one year. Experience of less than one year is acceptable, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience: Less than one year minimum required.

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups
• Education: GED or High School Diploma.
  Preferred Education: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
• Necessary Skills:
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer/patient service, problem solving, time management and organizational skill, be a team player, excellent communication skills including telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to recognize life-threatening findings and notify physicians.
  • Ability to calculate test results.
  • Uses good body mechanics.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Serves as patient advocate.
  • Good organizational skills basic computer data entry.
• Required Licensure/Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association; CCI or ARDMS required within one (1) year of hire or transfer date.
• Experience: Less than one (1) year minimum.
• Preferred Experience: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
