Job summary

UF Health seeks a qualified echocardiography technologist to perform echocardiograms on adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. The role requires BLS certification and RDCS/ARDMS eligibility or certification within one year of hire. Strong patient interaction and accuracy in test results are essential.

Ideal candidates have a GED or high school diploma, with preferred completion of a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer program and related experience.

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups Required
• Education: GED or High School Diploma.
• Preferred Education: Graduate of a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer program.
• Required Licensure/Certifications:
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • CCI or ARDMS, RDCS, required within one (1) year of hire or transfer date.
• Amount of Experience: Less than one (1) year minimum. Preferred Experience: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
• Necessary Skills:
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer/patient service, problem solving, time management, and organizational skill; team player with excellent communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to recognize life‑threatening findings and notify physicians.
  • Ability to calculate test results.
  • Uses good body mechanics.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Serves as patient advocate.
  • Good organizational skills and basic computer data entry.
