Job summary

St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the perioperative team. You will scrub, prepare and operate complex surgical equipment, including microscopes and autoclaves, to ensure safe, efficient surgeries.

The role requires CST certification, BLS, and at least six months in an acute care surgery setting. Military surgical tech experience is highly valued, with strong teamwork and patient-care focus emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience in an acute care Surgery Department and be able to perform as the scrub personnel in all specialties.
• Six months experience may be substituted if the candidate has completed an ORT externship on-site within the last year.
• If Military trained, a minimum of 10 years of Military Surgical Tech Experience is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and American Heart Association BLS Certification (BLS-CPR) are required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in the scrub technician role and assist nursing and attendant personnel during procedures.
• Safely prepare, inspect, and operate complex medical equipment (microscopes, power tools, sterilizers).
• Follow medical center policies, standards, and safety protocols.
• Use good judgment in utilizing personnel and adapt to changing environments.
• Deliver direct patient care services under RN supervision across diverse populations.
• Manage daily tasks to meet clinical objectives and business goals.
