Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; accredited Surgical Tech program or military training preferred.
• Previous Surgical Technologist experience is preferred.
• Current Surgical Tech Certification preferred when not a graduate of an accredited program.
• Must demonstrate customer service, communication, time management, and competency validation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiovascular and thoracic procedures under surgeon and RN supervision.
• Maintain safe OR environment, ensure equipment functions properly, maximize patient safety.
• Anticipate procedural needs and pass instruments efficiently during open-heart, vascular, and thoracic surgeries.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection prevention standards.
• Stay updated on cardiovascular surgical techniques and best practices.
