Job summary

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with recent cardiovascular and vascular case experience for a Trauma Level I hospital setting.

You will support a high-acuity CVOR unit with a patient mix from neonates to geriatrics, handling an average of 30 cases daily. The role includes 4x10 shifts with varied start times, on-call, and potential float to Outpatient, while utilizing Epic EMR and robotic systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of recent CVOR experience required.
• Recent vascular case experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• CST and NBSTSA certifications preferred.
• License required if applicable.
• Proficiency in scrub role and aseptic technique.
• Experience in General, Ortho/Spine/Total Joints, Neuro, and Neuro/Spine surgeries required.
• Experience with Cranial Navigation Stealth, Ortho Navigation Mako, and Robotics Xi systems preferred.
• COVID vaccination required.

Responsibilities

• Trauma Level I hospital CVOR unit with patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
• Average daily case volume of 30.
• 4x10 day/mid shifts with variable start times (0630-1700 or 0845-1915).
• Epic EMR used for documentation (experience preferred).
• On-call required, approximately 6-8 calls in 6 weeks for regular shifts.
• Float requirement to Outpatient as needed.
• Weekend night shift option available without additional mandatory call.
• Support surgical teams across a wide range of specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, and robotic surgeries.
• Work within a high-acuity trauma environment including amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, and multiple trauma injuries.
• Maintain aseptic technique, sterilization, and instrument processing standards.
• Handle advanced equipment including electrosurgical units, drills, scopes, and robotic surgical systems (Da Vinci, Mako).
• Participate in specimen handling, isolation precautions, and radiation/laser safety protocols as needed.
• All requested time off must be submitted with initial application for the entire contract length.
• Candidates should be prepared for a high cost-of-living market and should research housing in advance.
