Job summary

LCMC Health in Louisiana seeks an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist to support complex CV procedures, ensuring the team has the required instruments, equipment, and sterile environment for exceptional patient care.

The role emphasizes open heart, thoracic, and vascular procedure support, collaboration with RNs and perfusionists, and adherence to aseptic protocols in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA).
Current BLS certification.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Tech with at least 1 in CVOR.
ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare the CVOR with instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
Assist cardiovascular surgeons by providing appropriate instruments.
Maintain a sterile field and ensure aseptic techniques.
Collaborate with RNs, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, and team members.
Set up and troubleshoot heart-lung machines and related equipment.
Perform instrument counts and handle specimens.
Post-procedure cleanup and sterilization of instruments.
Document procedures and instrument usage as required.
