The role involves assisting surgeons during operations, performing pre-operative assessments, and coordinating with the care team for patient discharge and follow-up, with a day shift schedule and weekend call as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a recognized Nursing program.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience.
• RN licensure required.
• RN-First Assistant certification preferred.
• BLS certification due within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative nursing assessments and order pre-op procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare team for patient care planning.
• Assist during operations: instrument handling, exposure, tissue handling, hemostasis, suturing.
• Support post-operative patient care and discharge planning with team.
• Coordinate discharge and community resources as needed.
