CVOR Registered Nurse Job Details

Location: York, PA (zip 17403) – Pennsylvania healthcare jobs
Facility: Cardiac Open Heart Surgery Unit
Position Type: Locum Tenens, Travel Nursing Contract
Start Date: September 29, 2025
End Date: December 29, 2025
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (6:00 am – 6:30 pm)
On-call: 1-2 days/week with 30-minute response; every 3rd or 4th weekend; holidays as needed
Weekly Hours: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2260-$2320
COVID-19 & Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Work Environment: Tobacco and fragrance free

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR nursing experience (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania or compact state
BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
EPIC charting experience required
Ability to scrub and circulate in CVOR
Experience with open heart surgical procedures
Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
Ability to respond to on-call within 30 minutes
Willingness to float and care for COVID-19 patients as needed

CVOR Nurse Responsibilities

Assist in cardiac surgical procedures: Atrial Septal Defect repair, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), MAZE Procedure, Mitral Valve Replacement, TAVR
Scrub and circulate in the Cardiovascular Operating Room
Administer blood products and manage wound care
Ensure compliance with infection control, fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety protocols
Accurately handle and label surgical specimens
Participate in Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
Utilize cell saver technology and maintain high standards of patient safety
Float to other hospital units as required
Participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays
